Kawai Magnetic Engine
Japanese inventor Teruo Kawai patented an electric motor that uses a clever
technique to switch the magnetic flux in conjunction with electrical
switching to produce an OU motor. The U.S. patent information is:
Teruo Kawai, "Motive Power Generating Device," U.S. Patent No. 5,436,518;
issued July 25, 1995. Filed June 17, 1993. 16 claims and 19 drawing
sheets. Patents cited: 24 U.S., 2 foreign.
Tom Bearden has put the patent drawings on his website

The Japanese firm Hitachi had Teruo Kawai modify two of their high
efficiency motors which were then tested by Hitachi engineers. Hitachi
stated that the modified motors had COP of 1.4 and 1.6;

is a report on the tests. The report contains a link to the actual
patent as well as a number of references in which Tom Bearden has
written about the Kawai motor.
